Pasadena Creative Music presents an afternoon of diverse world music and fusion. February 28th 2pm
PremaSoul: (Sheela Bringi, Clinton Patterson) fuses ancient Indian melody with the soul of American music, transcending musical & cultural boundaries with an intoxicating mix of pop harmonies, world
rhythms, & original and traditional songs in many languages.
T.J. Troy presents solo repertoire of the North IndianTabla, in the
style of the Lucknowgharana. This performance will feature
traditional compositions, created distinctly for tabla solo,
including peshkar,palta theka, kaida, kaida-rela, rela, gat, tukra,
andchakradhar.
Classical Arabic Takht: Fahd Shaabad, T.J. Troy, Yvette Holzwarth, and Chris Votek have formed an exciting new oud, riqq, violin, and cello quartet especially to
play this concert. The repertoire is classical Arabic music, and
includes sama'i, longa, taqasim, and many instrumental songs.
